Take With Sunlight: A Visual Prescription

J/cm² is a visual meditation on light as medicine. Taking its name from the scientific unit for measuring phototherapy (joules per square centimeter), the project reframes light as a kind of prescription — something to be absorbed and something that can heal.

Born from personal experiences of illness and recovery, the work explores how even a patch of sun can offer profound comfort. Through photographic abstraction and color studies inspired by the inner glow of “closed-eye vision,” J/cm² imagines how we might reintroduce warmth, presence, and sensory depth into healthcare environments often devoid of natural light.
